We’re thrilled to share the latest progress on our project in Lakeway - a renovation and home addition on Hurst Creek.
Just last week, the foundation was formed and set—a critical step to ensure stability and longevity. The contractors meticulously excavated the site, leveling the ground and reinforcing it with steel and concrete. The new foundation is now in place, framing is well underway.
The framing of the master bedroom suite is taking shape. The rhythmic hammering echoes through the house as walls rise, defining the layout. We can envision the spacious bedroom, the cozy bathroom, and the walk-in closet. The framing crew pays attention to every detail, ensuring that windows align perfectly, doorways are well-placed, and the roof trusses fit snugly. It’s a symphony of construction— a promise of comfort and luxury for the new homeowners.
As part of the renovation, all of the old windows were replaced with energy-efficient units. The rooms are now flooded with natural light, creating a sense of openness and connection to the outdoors. But it’s not just about aesthetics; these windows are designed to keep the home comfortable year-round. The double-glazed glass acts as a thermal barrier, preventing heat from escaping during winter and keeping the scorching Texas sun at bay during summer. Energy bills have noticeably decreased, and we’re doing our part for the environment too.

About Hurst Creek
Motif was hired to measure and document (original blueprints were not available) an existing home in the Lakeway neighborhood. The owners were seeking a permit to renovate selected areas on the home and built a new addition that meets the City requirements.
As their trusted architect, we collaborated with the contractor and City of Lakeway to produced the documentation required for permitting, code compliance and construction.
Our team also worked with a structural engineer, to verify load bearing walls and generate demolition plans to expand several rooms inside the house.
