Small but significant updates: Over the past few days, the paint team has meticulously prepped, sanded, and caulked the walls and wood paneling, setting the stage for the final coats of paint.
This crucial step ensures a flawless finish, highlighting the attention to detail that defines our work. We are thrilled with the smooth, ready-to-paint surfaces and eagerly anticipate seeing the project approach completion. The transformation so far has been incredible, and we can't wait to share the final results with you!
Selecting Paint with an Architect.
Choosing paint colors can be a daunting task, especially when considering how each hue will interact with the overall design and various finishes in a space. During construction, we often schedule meetings with clients to select colors once the project has progressed enough to provide a tangible sense of the space. This approach allows clients to visualize how different colors will work with the actual lighting and existing elements in the room. We begin by presenting large swatches of color, along with sample tiles, wallpaper, or other finishes to give a comprehensive view of the potential palette. This method helps in narrowing down choices and seeing how different materials will harmonize together.
To make the most informed decision, we then observe these samples at various times of the day to see how the light affects the tones. Natural and artificial lighting can drastically change the appearance of a color, so it's crucial to assess the options under different conditions. Finally, we order sample cans of the top three colors and apply them to the walls. This step is invaluable as it allows clients to see the colors in a larger context and get a true sense of how they will look once the project is completed. By following this thorough and thoughtful process, we ensure that the final color selection enhances the overall design and meets the client's vision and expectations.
